Terms of service
These terms apply when you use DropTheHassle: putting a site online, buying or connecting a domain, or using email at your domain. If something is unclear, ask us at info@dropthehassle.com.
Last updated: 30 September 2026.
Who we are
DropTheHassle is run by DBOS B.V., 3e Westewagenhof 50, 3011 AR Rotterdam, the Netherlands, KvK 95650989, VAT number NL867223327B01. In these terms, "we" and "us" means DBOS B.V. The only contact address is info@dropthehassle.com, including for abuse reports.
Your account
- Your email address is your account. You sign in with a code we email you, or with a password you set.
- Keep access to that email address. Whoever controls it can sign in to your account. You can add a backup email address for recovery.
- You are responsible for what happens in your account, including what an AI assistant or command-line tool does with a token you gave it. You can revoke a token at any time in your dashboard.
- A token can publish and manage sites. It can never pay for anything. Payments always need you.
Anonymous sites and the 7-day claim
- You can put a site online without an account. It gets a free address ending in .dropthehassle.app, and you get a claim link.
- Until it is claimed, an anonymous site can be at most 25 MB and 1,000 files, and is hidden from search engines. Executables and nested archives are refused.
- Claim it within 7 days by entering your email address. The site then moves to your account. After that an upload can be 100 MB and 5,000 files. Keep the claim link private: anyone who has it can claim the site.
- An unclaimed site can be removed after 7 days.
- An unclaimed anonymous site is taken offline automatically when it is reported from three different networks within 24 hours.
Your site and your content
- What you upload stays yours. You allow us to store, copy and serve it, only to run the service: putting it online, keeping backups, and showing it to visitors.
- You confirm that you have the right to publish what you upload.
- We may feature a public site in our Site of the day showcase. A person on our team reviews a site before it is featured. You can opt out in your account or with the link in our email.
- Keep your own copy. You can download your site as a zip from your dashboard.
Prices, payment and VAT
- Prices are shown before you pay and include VAT where VAT applies.
- A .com costs EUR 19 a year including VAT in the EU, or USD 19 elsewhere, the same every year. Other endings have their own price, shown before you pay.
- Email at your domain is a monthly subscription. The price is shown before you turn it on.
- Payments go through Stripe. You get a receipt by email, and your invoices are in your account.
- A domain registration is non-refundable once the name is registered. At checkout you ask us to start immediately, and so you give up the 14-day withdrawal right for that registration.
- If we cannot register the name, we refund that payment.
Renewals
- A domain renews every year, automatically, until you stop the renewal.
- 14 days before the renewal we email you the renewal price. About 10 days before, we charge the payment method you used.
- If that charge fails, we email you a payment link and try again, up to three times. If the renewal is still unpaid 2 days before the domain expires, we stop the renewal and the domain can expire.
- You can stop a renewal at any time in your dashboard. The domain keeps working until the end of the year you already paid for.
- Email renews every month. When you turn email off, it keeps working until the end of the month you already paid for.
You own your domain
- You are the owner (the registrant) of every domain you buy through us. We register it in your name, with your details, through our accredited domain registrar partner.
- Give correct contact details and keep them up to date. The registry requires a verified owner email address. If you do not confirm the verification email, the registry can suspend the domain.
- A registration also follows the rules of the registry of that ending and, for endings such as .com, the rules of ICANN.
- You can move your domain to another provider at any time. Ask for the transfer code in your dashboard and we email it to you within a day. Registry rules can block a transfer for a period, for example shortly after a registration.
- A domain you bought elsewhere and connect to us stays with the company where you bought it.
Acceptable use
Do not use DropTheHassle for:
- anything illegal, including content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or privacy;
- phishing, fraud or scams, or pretending to be another person or company;
- malware, or code that attacks visitors or other systems;
- spam, including spam sent from email at your domain;
- child sexual abuse material, or content that calls for violence or hatred;
- overloading or attacking our systems, or getting around our limits.
Taking sites offline and stopping
- We can take a site offline, or stop a service, if it breaks these terms or the law, if an authority orders us to, or to protect visitors or our systems. Taking a site offline does not cancel your domain or your email.
- If you think we got it wrong, email info@dropthehassle.com and we look at it again.
- You can stop at any time: delete a site, stop a domain renewal, turn off email, or move your domain out. What you already paid for keeps running until the end of its period. To close your account, email us.
Liability
- We work to keep DropTheHassle running, but we cannot promise that it is never down or never loses data. Keep a copy of your site.
- We are not liable for indirect damage, such as lost profit, lost revenue or lost data.
- Our liability is capped at what you paid us in the previous 12 months.
- These limits do not apply to damage caused by our intent or gross negligence. They do not take away any rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.
Law and disputes
- Dutch law applies to these terms.
- Please tell us first. Most problems are solved faster by email.
- Disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands. If you are a consumer in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of your country, and you can also go to the court where you live.
Changes
We may change these terms. The date of the last change is at the top. We email account holders before material changes take effect. If you do not agree with a change, you can stop using the service as described above.
