Publish a Gemini Canvas app as a real website, on your own domain
You already built it. Now it's on your name. A Gemini Canvas share link opens inside Gemini, not on a domain you own. Gemini does not provide a custom domain. Copy the code, save it as index.html, drop it on DropTheHassle for a free HTTPS link, then buy a .com for EUR 19 a year including VAT in the EU, or USD 19 elsewhere, the same every year, or point a domain you own.

What the share link does
Share and export gives a g.co/gemini/share link that opens only in Gemini. Anyone with the link can view the content. Google's Canvas help also says that for a shared app, anyone with the link can see and change the app's data. Do not use that link for something private. Export from Canvas goes to Docs, Slides, or Colab, not to a website on your name. The share link is fine for a quick demo.
- In Canvas, open Code. Copy the code (or Copy contents) and save it as
index.html. - If it is more than one file, ask: "Rewrite this as one self-contained index.html with all CSS and JavaScript inline."
- Drop the folder at dropthehassle.com. You get
https://yourname.dropthehassle.app. No card. Visitors do not need a Gemini account.
Features that call Gemini inside the app, including "add Gemini features", stop working once the file is hosted elsewhere. Data the app stored in Gemini does not come with the file.
On your own domain
A .com bought here is EUR 19 a year including VAT in the EU, or USD 19 elsewhere, the same every year. No DNS edit. A domain you already own needs one A record: one line at the company where you bought the domain, set to the address shown on your screen. Press Check now. HTTPS follows.
