How do I get my Cursor project online?

Add DropTheHassle to Cursor's mcp.json, then ask the agent Put ./dist online with DropTheHassle: you get a free HTTPS link, yourname.dropthehassle.app, with no card. Cursor builds the project, and DropTheHassle hosts it. You can also drop the built folder on dropthehassle.com yourself.

Last updated: 3 October 2026. The mcp.json shape follows Cursor's MCP docs.

Put it online from Cursor

  1. Build it. Ask the agent to run npm run build, or run it yourself. Use the dist folder (or build or out). A plain HTML project is ready as it is.
  2. Connect DropTheHassle once. Add this to .cursor/mcp.json in your project (or ~/.cursor/mcp.json for every project):
    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "dropthehassle": {
          "url": "https://dropthehassle.com/mcp"
        }
      }
    }
    No account and no token needed for a first deploy.
  3. Ask for it. In the agent chat, type: Put ./dist online with DropTheHassle. Give your email when it asks.
  4. Open your link and claim it. The agent replies with your live link and a claim link. Open the claim link to keep the site: an unclaimed site is removed after at least 7 days.

Rather click than type? Open dropthehassle.com, press Upload (free) and drop the dist folder. It's the same free link.

Questions

Why does my Cursor project only work on localhost?

localhost is your own computer, so only you can open it. Put the built folder on DropTheHassle and you get a link anyone can open.

Do I need GitHub or an account?

No. A first deploy needs no GitHub, no account and no token. Give your email when it asks, and claim the site to keep it.

Does it work with a React, Vite or Next.js static export?

Yes, when the build gives you a folder with index.html. Single-page apps work: an address that is not a file serves your index.html with a 200.

Can Cursor buy my domain?

No. It can check names and hand you a payment link, but it can never spend your money. A .com is €19 a year (incl. VAT in the EU), $19 elsewhere, the same every year.

How do I update the site later?

Claim the site, then add your token from Connect your AI in the dashboard. After that, ask the agent to update my site and it updates the same address.

My app has a server part. Can it go online too?

Got a server part too? Keep it on AWS, Google Cloud, DigitalOcean or your own server, and your AI links it to your site in one step.
